how to get here

Taking the A696 from Newcastle, you pass Kirkwhelpington and the Knowesgate Motel; a couple of miles after these look for a right turn signposted Elsdon - this takes you onto a single track road right beside a farmhouse (Raylees). Townfoot cottage is the first house on the left as you come into the village. Go through the double gates and park in the drive in front of a wooden barn which is right beside the cottage. If you are using Satnav, the postcode is NE19 1BH.
